Right in the heart of central Scotland and only half an hour from both Glasgow and Edinburgh, the Falkirk area is easy to reach by either road or rail.
There is an excellent choice of accommodation with a number of hotels, guesthouses and B&Bs in the town centres, and self catering cottages, chalets and caravan parks in surrounding areas.
It is an area steeped in history with a wealth of attractions including the world's only rotating boat-lift, a steam railway line, a baronial mansion, castles and clay mines, museums and galleries and superb parks and gardens.
Falkirk town centre boasts first class shopping facilities with its two large shopping centres, The Mall - Howgate and Callendar Square, a pedestrianised high street and a fine selection of local independent stores, boutiques and gift shops.
There are numerous sports clubs and leisure facilities to suit all preferences and when you just want to relax and unwind there is an excellent selection of quality bars and restaurants for you to enjoy.
